Seaman’s Schnapps promotes Osun Osogbo festival


In a bid to promote Nigeria’s rich culture and tradition, Seaman's Schnapps the conveyor of enduring blessings, added excitement and elegance to the just concluded Osun Osogbo festival. The iconic Seaman’s Schnapps promoted the traditional Ayo Olopon contest and presented gift items to participants at the event.

The popular Ayo Olopon contest which gave lovers of the game the opportunity to showcase their skills in both the male and female categories was held during the festival. The competition was aimed at encouraging men and women to develop the culture of playing the traditional Ayo Olopon.

Speaking on the competition, Durojaiye Temitope, the winner of the Seaman’s Ayo Olopon competition (male category), lauded Seaman’s Schnapps brand for its continued support in sustaining the traditional Ayo Olopon game.

Also, Mrs. Bosede Arolasuyi, who won the female category, said:
“my coming out to participate is to encourage other women to embrace the traditional game, saying, “May God continue to bless Seaman’s Schnapps for rewarding the winners of the competition.”
At the festival, Seaman’s Schnapps created a special pavilion along the grove area where it entertained visitors as well as distributed gifts items of various kinds to visitors and participants during the dancing competition.
Seaman’s also presented gifts worth millions of naira to participants and winners of the Ayo Olopon competition and grove activation, a gesture which is Grand Oak’s contribution to the 2016 edition of the globally recognized festival.
The gift items included, mini refrigerators, gasoline generators, fans, among others
Speaking during the courtesy visit to  Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Larooye 11 Ataoja of Osogbo, Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed, who was represented by Director-General National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Mallam Yusuf Abdallah Usman, said
“the present  administration is totally committed to the continued  preservation and sustenance of cultural heritage especially the sacred grove which is the sine qua non to the beginning of existence of modern Osogbo as a city,,
